Meet our MBA Faculty


Dr. Anurag Agarwal, Ph.D.
Information Systems/Decision Science


Professor Agarwal's teaching interests broadly lie in the field of Information Systems and Managerial Decision Making. He has taught courses in System Analysis and Design, Database Systems, Knowledge-based Systems, Programming Languages, Decision Support Systems, Accounting Information Systems, Financial Accounting, Managerial Accounting and Managerial Statistics.

His research interests include application of Artificial Intelligence techniques, such as Neural Networks and Genetic Algorithms to a variety of Optimization problems and Classification Problems.

He has published in journals such as INFORMS Journal on Computing, Naval Research Logistics, European Journal of Operational Research, Annals of Operations Research and Information Technology and Management. He serves on the editorial board of Information Technology and Management and Enterprise Information Systems.

He has worked in industry for two years as Systems Analyst and Programmer. Prior to joining USF, Professor Agarwal served on the faculty of University of Florida.

Meet our MBA Faculty


Dr. Delaney Kirk, Ph.D

Professor of Management


Delaney J. Kirk, Ph.D., SPHR, has 26 years of teaching experience, most recently as a tenured full professor at Drake University for 18 years before coming to the University of South Florida Sarasota/Manatee regional campus.

She received her Ph.D. from the University of North Texas in 1988. Prior to teaching, she worked in marketing research, accounting, and training and development. She teaches a variety of courses in management including Employment Law, Labor Relations, HR Management, Managing Diversity, Organizational Behavior, and Leadership.

Dr. Kirk's research interests include sexual harassment, employment discrimination, and procedural and distributive justice. She has authored articles which have appeared in Labor Law Journal, Human Relations, SAM Advanced Management Journal, Journal of Business & Entrepreneurship, and Journal of Individual Employment Rights. She does consulting and serves as an expert witness on cases dealing with sexual harassment and discrimination.

Dr. Kirk has taught workshops on classroom management and teaching effectiveness at numerous academic conferences and schools including Columbia University, Duke University, University of Washington, University of Arkansas-Ft Smith, Graceland University, University of Nebraska, and St Petersburg College. She was the featured expert for the Chronicle of Higher Education's online chat on classroom management on September 15, 2004. Her book, Taking Back the Classroom: Tips for the College Professor on Becoming a More Effective Teacher, was released by Tiberius Publications in October 2005.

On a personal note, Dr. Kirk enjoys art, live music, traveling, writing short stories, and her two cats "Growltiger and Mouse". She is very proud of her two successful and independent children: Tiffany who owns her own small business in education/training and Chris who is a Software Design Engineer at Microsoft.
